Strange they don’t have the pool rules posted. First I’d like to say “thank you” to the lifeguards for showing up and keeping us all safe. I know there are many neighborhood pools that can’t open due to staffing shortages.
Not sure what the contract between the pool and Safe Guard Aquatics who provides the life guards say but it does not include cleaning. The wade pool was absolutely disgusting. Giant clumps of hair, bird feathers, plastic wrappers and other debris was present in the pool at opening. What I did notice was the life guards constantly monitoring the chlorine levels.
The diving board is permanently closed. I asked one of the life guards and she said it will not be repaired and will eventually be removed. There is diving in the still allowed in the deep end but NO FLIPS of any kind! I was told after my second flip.
I liked that there was lots of shaded areas. There’s nothing in the rules about playing music. I figured since no one else was playing any I won’t either. It might be another unposted rule.

Upon making reservation for my son's 13th birthday party, i was told by the girl working at the door that the time slot was a 3 1/2 hr window and not to worry about getting there right at three and that we probably wouldn't have to leave at the exact time either. So thinking we had much more time than we ACTUALLY had, and the fact that you can't get in early to decorate for the party, I pushed the party to 4. So we get there, I spend 45 minutes setting up and about 15 minutes in the water and they come around and say we have ten minutes to leave. We hadn't even opened presents yet.
It seems to me that there is a huge gap in communication and our they just like to ruin people's day. This is all after paying almost $50 for everyone attending. They obviously don't want people to get there on time as it's less work for them. I was lied to and then cheated out of being able to give my son, turning a teenager, a nice party. They had less than an hr to swim because of lazy, lying kids running a pool. I asked to speak to the manager and she was a young girl who looked about 13 herself. Who did absolutely NOTHING to help and had a snooty attitude. Don't waste your time or money on this tiny, poorly run pool. My family and I live just down the road and will be visiting other pools from now on.
They shouldn't let kids run something as serious as a pool.
They all should be retrained on the rules and regulations because they are obviously NOT all on the same page.

We live in your district, we even had a family season pass last summer. We didn't purchase one this summer. It's been so hot, I figured we can take the kids around 7 when the sun is setting. We were told no kids for the last hour of being open. We have never had this rule, ever. My 3 kids, and a few others were all turned away by a tall older male lifeguard, I never seen him there before. The kids who were lifeguards last summer were great. Get it right. Sincerely, Tanglewood Limited District Resident

First off I didn't realize online that it was a $5 fee to use the pool. That was totally my fault. however paying $20 for 4 of us, I didn't feel like my kids should have to get out of the pool for adult swim every hour. We were only there for two hours however the pool is less populated than most public pools and we did enjoy ourselves. Additionally having the kiddie pool was a plus we usually go to dittmar and that's not available to us. I probably wouldn't pay twenty bucks to go again for my family, but we didn't have a terrible experience. It was an ok pool.

This pool sucks, the life guards are literally never there at 11 or walking in at 11. It was 11:08 and they barley opened up and then told me we can’t get in because they neeeded 1 morning guard. Try telling a 3 year old that. This neighborhood needs a better pool and friendlier staff who care about being on time.

I understand the limited district now that it was very kindly explained to me. Apparently we don't pay enough in taxes to be in their "limited district." (We are 2 blocks too far out, within the same neighborhood.) Thanks for making me feel welcome, woman on the board of directors. Why not expand your district and include more people? Overbearing, whistle happy lifeguards, small pool, rather spend less and have more fun at Barton Springs.

The new lifeguards this year are on a power trip and are extremely whistle happy. There are 2 in particular that are ridiculous. We used to love coming here but now it’s usually crowded and the lifeguards take all of the fun out of it.

Pool ok. The price is super high for a lackluster pool with a crappy diving board. One of the lifeguards was on a power trip screaming out at every kid not walking at a snails pace. During the adult swim time the kids were told to get out of the kiddy pool. First and last time my family and I will be going to this establishment.
